For Spotoolfy users

Coming from Spotoolfy?

Yoin is written from scratch in Jetpack Compose by 51. Spotoolfy’s core features carry over, alongside support for your own server and Apple Music.

What’s new

Capabilities beyond Spotoolfy.

Your own server

Native support for Navidrome, Gonic and other OpenSubsonic servers.

Apple Music

Library and catalog access via MusicKit with direct in-app playback.

Multiple accounts

Configure several accounts and switch between them from the top of Home.

Memories and Scrapbook

Archive ratings, reviews and timestamped notes per album, with optional NeoDB sync for album ratings and reviews.

Modular Home

Long-press to reorder sections, hide modules or drag the corner handle to resize rows.

Adaptive multi-pane layout

Native layouts for landscape phones, unfolded foldables and multi-column tablets.

Spotify setup

Reuse your existing Spotify developer app.

If you already created an app on Spotify for Developers for Spotoolfy, you can reuse the same Client ID in Yoin after adding two settings.

  1. Open Spotify for Developers and select the app you created for Spotoolfy.
  2. Open its settings, tap Edit, keep your existing redirect URI, and add Yoin’s two redirect URIs:
    yoin://auth/spotify/callback
    yoin://auth/spotify/app-remote
  3. Keep Web API checked and check Android as well.
  4. Under Android packages, enter the package name and the SHA1 fingerprint shown in Yoin’s settings, then tap Add.
    com.gpo.yoin
  5. Save the settings, then copy the Client ID and paste it into Yoin.

Spotoolfy keeps working

Spotoolfy’s own redirect URI remains registered on the same app, so both clients can authorize without conflict.

Yoin uses PKCE and App Remote and does not require a Client Secret. Spotify Premium and the installed Spotify app are still required.

Migration notes

Switch over, don’t start over.

  • The import is in Yoin’s welcome guide. After you pick Spotify, it asks “Using Spotoolfy?”. Choose “Yes, bring my data”, export from Spotoolfy as shown, then pick “Import to Yoin” in the share menu.
  • Notes and ratings go into the Spotify account you connect, and they can be imported once. If you skipped it, run the guide again from Settings › About › Welcome guide, as long as that account has no notes or ratings yet.
  • Yoin is a native Android app built for phones, foldables and tablets.
  • Both apps can remain installed on the same device, though Spotify can only play through one at a time.
  • The interface is in English and Simplified Chinese; lyric translation works with your chosen language.
