Changelog
0.5.5 (18)
LatestVolume leveling and Spatial audio for Subsonic, song credits and full track details in About, and control lighting across Now Playing.
New
- Volume leveling on Subsonic. Settings › Playback › Volume leveling offers Off, By track and By album (By album by default, using track gain when a song has no album gain). ReplayGain switches at the first sample of each incoming track without changing the player volume, and tracks without tags play as they are. DLNA casting and direct passthrough output (sent without decoding) play without Volume leveling.
- Spatial audio on Subsonic. Multichannel 5.1 and 7.1 tracks are handed to system spatial audio. When enabled in the system and supported by the current output, Now Playing shows a Spatial tag after the audio format tag. Settings › Playback › Streaming quality adds Spatial audio with a toggle—explaining how a 5.1 track will play right now and why—and a shortcut to System sound settings.
- Dolby Atmos and album edition tags. E-AC-3 JOC and AC-4 tracks display a Dolby Atmos format tag, and an album’s edition info appears as a tag.
- Credits moved from Lyrics into About. Lyricist, composer, musician, recording and copyright lines at the start and end of NetEase and QQ Music lyrics now move into About instead of appearing as Lyrics. Expanded About becomes a one-item-per-row list: song credits, Gemini’s Creation Time and Creation Location, and every Subsonic field (Genre, Year, Track, Length, Quality, Channels, File size, BPM, Plays, Server rating, Added, Comment and File), rotating through them when collapsed. In the Scrapbook, the track page now extends to the bottom edge of the screen, and when About is empty you can tap Generate with Gemini to write it.
- Control lighting in Now Playing. Actions such as Favorite, rating, Write a note, changing Shuffle or Repeat, dragging the progress bar, Translate lyrics, switching Devices and Keep screen on light up the background from the control you touched. Opening sheets, switching tabs or leaving the page does not trigger the glow, and the background stays still while idle.
- Not rated, separate from 0.0. Tracks you have never rated now show an empty rating bar with no number and stay Not rated; dragging the bar all the way down records a true 0.0. In the Scrapbook, Clear rating returns a track to Not rated with Undo. Album pages, Memories, Home and home-screen widgets all follow the same rule.
Improved
- Focus: the song title and artist stay on screen, with a gentle haptic tap when you enter Focus artwork; Lyrics are larger, keeping the current line at the top with the just-sung line above it.
- Focus in squarer, shorter portrait windows: a reworked layout keeps the cover at its full size, gathers the playback controls into a single row, and lets the halftone lyrics extend down beneath the controls.
- Focus: while lyrics are playing and the screen hasn’t been touched for four seconds, the playback controls and timestamps fade out, leaving only the progress bar; the first touch anywhere wakes them back up without triggering a button. The next two lyric lines are also easier to read.
- In light mode, the Now Playing background now builds a “room” from the cover colors of the previous, current and next tracks; dark mode stays as it was.
- The Focus background moves more noticeably with a refined palette: as a track plays through, a second color from the cover advances from one side, and changing tracks sweeps the new color in along that direction.
- About now shows the Gemini background glow when it loads automatically; when no Gemini API key is set, a soft pink notice appears once (at most once every three days).
Fixed
- Subsonic: playlists on two different servers that share the same ID (such as “1”) no longer share a single Playlist cloud backup.
0.5.4 (17)
Offline downloads for Subsonic, a redesigned track page in the Scrapbook, and Subsonic plays that count on your server.
New
- Offline downloads. On Subsonic, Download appears in an album’s ▾ menu, a playlist’s ⋮ menu and Song options. While tracks download, it reads Downloading n / m—tap to cancel—and switches to Remove download once finished. Settings › Storage › Downloads sets Download quality (Original, 320, 192 or 128 kbps; 320 kbps by default) and Download using mobile data (off by default, so downloads wait for Wi‑Fi), offers Remove all downloads, and lists every downloaded album and playlist under Downloaded with the space it takes.
- Track page in the Scrapbook. Long-press a track in the Scrapbook to open its own page with the track number, title and a score pill you can tap to adjust or Clear. Switch between About and Note at the top: under About, write your own entries or Regenerate them one at a time with Undo; under Note, notes follow the lyrics’ timeline, and tapping any lyric line lets you start a New note or play from that moment. Prompts across the app also move to Yoin’s floating bar style.
- On Your Other Accounts on Home. When you have more than one account, this new Home section lists the albums and playlists your other accounts played most over the past 90 days. Tap any item to Switch and play on that account, with a confirmation prompt the first time.
- Quick actions in Song options. A row of buttons now sits at the top of the song menu: Play next, Add to queue, Favorite and Share for tracks in an album or playlist; Favorite, Add to playlist and Share for the currently playing song. Long-pressing the mini player in the bottom bar opens the same sheet.
- Subsonic play reporting. Tracks you play from Subsonic now report back to Navidrome and other servers—once when playback starts, and as a full play after half the track or four minutes. Server play counts and recently played lists stay up to date, and servers linked to Last.fm or ListenBrainz forward them along. Offline plays are queued locally and sent once you reconnect.
Improved
- Focus in dark mode now fills the screen with the cover’s full color instead of a muted grey wash.
- Tablets in landscape switch between albums smoothly in the three-pane layout: the color palette steps over in one go, and the cover’s dot dissolve renders on the GPU.
- Opening your Spotify Library and switching accounts no longer wait for a full sync.
- Subsonic plays 5.1 and other multichannel audio straight from the original file, showing a channel tag such as 5.1 in Now Playing and Song options.
- Subsonic Streaming quality now defaults to Original on Wi‑Fi and Auto on Mobile data (Original on wired audio, 320 kbps over Bluetooth, and 192 kbps on the speaker).
- Gemini summaries now cite your Memories by their titles, and Chinese names display properly in the Spotoolfy recap.
Fixed
- Pressing Back on Home exits Yoin instead of opening the server setup screen.
- Jump Back In: albums you rated yourself now show the date you last played them instead of Based on X/N tracks.
- Tablets: fixed a few remaining cases where an album page repeated the cover already open in the Now Playing side panel.
0.5.3 (16)
Cover colors across Now Playing, Focus redone in halftone dots, and original song names on Apple Music.
New
- Cover colors in Now Playing. The top of Now Playing is tinted with the cover’s own color and draws zero frames while idle. Skip next and the incoming song’s color washes in from the right; Skip previous and it flows in from the left, or rises through Lyrics when lyrics are in front. Tap a lyric or note line to light a soft band of the cover’s color behind it. Ask Gemini also gets a new pastel wash with fine dots in the four corners.
- Focus, redone. Tap the cover to Focus artwork: the top bar and three bottom pills step aside, the cover expands, and the title and both rows of playback controls stay put. Cover-colored dots ripple outward around the edges when you enter Focus or change tracks, breathe with the lyrics, and fade after about eight seconds. Lyrics print in halftone: the active line develops from dots into solid type while sung lines scatter back into dots. At the end of a track, the final line holds as the next song’s opening line rises from below under Up next. Pressing Back now steps from expanded lyrics to Focus, then back to normal Now Playing.
- Song names on Apple Music. Each Apple Music account in Settings now includes Song names, with four choices: As Apple Music shows them, In their original language, As China mainland names them, or As Japan names them.
- Subsonic Streaming quality. Settings › Playback › Streaming quality lets you set Wi‑Fi and Mobile data separately to Original, 320, 192 or 128 kbps, with both starting at Original. Now Playing and Song options display each track’s audio format, such as FLAC 24/96 or MP3 320. Tracks with multiple artists now list every artist, and multi-disc albums sort by disc under a Disc N heading.
Improved
- Tapping a playback control scatters a ring of dots around the button.
- In squarer, shorter portrait windows: entering Focus now uses the short-window layout, moving Skip previous onto the play row and giving the progress bar a row of its own.
- The spine beside the cover in short portrait windows now shows one detail at a time, rotating every nine seconds or when you swipe. It pulls from cached About info (Created, Recorded in, Lyricist, Composer and Producer), and on Subsonic adds audio format, bit depth, sample rate, bitrate, Server rating, Genre, Year and disc number.
- Tablets: when the Now Playing side panel next to an album page is playing that same album, the album page no longer repeats the cover.
Fixed
- Backgrounds on other screens no longer redraw twice a second during playback, and the Memories aurora animates only while you turn pages, saving battery.
0.5.2 (15)
An editable Scrapbook, layouts for shorter, squarer portrait windows on album pages and Now Playing, and rounded one-line lyrics.
New
- Edit the Scrapbook. Long-press a ticket stub, or tap a track’s question, About card or fact chip to open its sheet. Adjust or Clear the track’s score, and edit or Delete individual questions and About entries written by Gemini. Deleting an entry shows Deleted with Undo so you can bring it right back.
- Short-window layouts. In squarer, shorter portrait windows where the height can’t fit a full cover above the title and details—or when larger text needs more vertical room—album pages switch to a side-by-side layout, cover on the left and details on the right, so track titles stay clear of the bottom bar. In Now Playing, a vertical strip beside the cover scrolls the album, artist and song title upward like a record spine, and tapping the cover enters Focus. Swipe between the album overview and the Scrapbook and the cover flies across with you.
Improved
- One-line lyrics now use a rounded typeface and drop into place as each new line arrives.
- Album pages on phones in portrait: your rating and Short comment now share a single row, and Last Play joins the track count line (such as “Yesterday 15:43”)—tap it to open the Scrapbook.
- Refined the custom Yoin Symbols icon set across the entire app.
Fixed
- The outer corners of the Now Playing side panel now fill with the page edge’s color instead of letting another background bleed through, including in right-to-left layouts.
- Opening Now Playing over an album or playlist keeps the status bar icons in the right contrast color.
- Menus and the rating sheet opened over detail pages no longer flip the status bar icons to an unreadable tint.
- When editing in the Scrapbook, the on-screen keyboard no longer covers Delete, Cancel and Save.
- Smoother, steadier title and cover transitions when expanding Now Playing.
- Restoring from a backup or moving to a new phone no longer overwrites newer ratings and short comments on NeoDB with older local data.
0.5.1 (13–14)
Cast to DLNA speakers, a Spotify queue that matches what actually plays, and an Off state for Repeat.
New
- DLNA speakers. Stream from your Subsonic server to DLNA speakers on the same Wi-Fi, Sonos groups included. They appear in Devices alongside Chromecast. Press play or pause on the speaker itself and Yoin stays in sync while the queue carries on.
- Repeat off. In Now Playing, Repeat now steps through Repeat All, Repeat One and Off, with a slashed icon when turned off.
- Open source licenses. Settings › About › Open source licenses lists the fonts and libraries Yoin ships with. Tap any entry for the full license text.
Improved
- Google sign-in for Cloud sync: pick your account in the system Sign in with Google sheet, then grant Google Drive access—no more legacy account picker dialog.
- Playlist pages: scroll down and the cover tucks beside the title while the header folds into a band of its colors, matching album pages.
- Large Spotify libraries load in full: up to 2,000 Liked Songs; up to 1,000 saved albums, playlists, followed artists and tracks per playlist; up to 100 releases per artist (previously capped at 200, 300 and 60).
- Spotify search: song, album, artist and playlist results load more pages as you reach the bottom.
- Tap a song in search results and the remaining songs from the search queue up behind it.
- When Spotify withholds the tracklist of someone else’s playlist, Yoin explains why and offers Open in Spotify.
- Spotify Client ID settings: each redirect URI has its own copy button, alongside a direct link to Spotify for Developers.
- When the queue order is locked (on Spotify, Apple Music, or while shuffling), the sheet explains why.
- The playing track is marked across Songs, Favorites and search results with a highlighted title and a moving equalizer.
- Memories widget: the score and last-played time read more clearly against the dark strip, and the 2×2 size no longer clips the bottom-left corner of the cover under the launcher mask. Reported by a tester
- Tapping a home-screen widget opens the album, artist or playlist with the standard page transition.
Fixed
- The Spotify queue:
- Songs added via Add to queue play right after the current track—matching Spotify’s actual playback order—without dropping the rest of the album.
- Tracks queued inside the Spotify app appear in Next in queue, so the list matches what plays next.
- Playback started directly in the Spotify app also populates the upcoming queue in Yoin.
- While shuffling, all unplayed tracks appear under Next from.
- Tapping any track in the queue jumps straight to it; if a playlist contains duplicates, playback starts from the exact row you tapped.
- When this phone hasn’t joined Spotify Connect yet, tapping a track in an album or playlist starts from that track and continues through the rest.
- Rotating the screen with Lyrics open, or with PLAY and NEXT visible in Now Playing, no longer crashes Yoin. Reported by W***en
- Apple Music: tracks no longer cut off early at the end, and Yoin re-verifies the start position when playback begins.
- Deleting a playlist closes its page with the standard back transition.
- Album pages: after your first play, the Last played line expands smoothly instead of flashing in. Reported by a tester
- Album pages: once loading finishes, the record-groove emblem at the top right aligns with the title instead of sitting under the status bar. Reported by a tester
- Scrapbook: pulling down on a track’s expanded card no longer jitters or slips under the status bar. Reported by t***86
- Welcome guide: tapping Yes or No on the Spotoolfy step no longer makes the layout jump. Reported by t***86
- Restored the missing arrowheads on the shuffle and repeat icons. Reported by t***86
Under the hood
- Build 14 moves to Android Gradle Plugin 9.2, Kotlin 2.4 and compileSdk 37 (targetSdk stays at 36), alongside Compose BOM 2026.09, Material 3 1.5 alpha, material3-adaptive 1.3 and OkHttp 5.5.
- The lyrics search button is rebuilt on Material 3’s SearchBar while keeping its morphing expansion from the button.
To the testers who reported these.
0.5.0 (12)
One round button for play modes, a bottom sheet for song options, and playlist copying across accounts.
New
- Play modes in one button. A single round button in Now Playing steps through four modes on tap, and splits into separate Shuffle and Repeat toggles on long-press.
- Song options sheet. Long-press any track to slide its actions up from the bottom.
- Keep screen on in Now Playing, available from the cover’s long-press menu and remembered across restarts. Asked for by a friend
- Tips. Each tip bubble on Home opens its own page with an interactive phone preview, all collected under Settings › About › Tips alongside links to the website and docs.
- Copy playlists across accounts between Spotify, Apple Music and Subsonic, matching tracks by ISRC.
- Yoin’s source code is now public on GitHub under the Apache License 2.0.
Improved
- Tapping Yoin in the system media controls opens straight to Now Playing. Reported by a tester
- Spotify: other people’s playlists now open, falling back to an alternate track request when Spotify rejects the standard endpoint. Reported by h***an
- Spotify: when connection fails, Copy details includes the failure reason and the Client ID tied to the token. Reported by y***ng
- Apple Music: lyric lookup also checks a song’s English title, and the MusicKit developer token stays valid throughout your session.
Fixed
- Foldables: starting playback from an album page no longer shows two covers side by side, and tip bubbles anchor to the right spot. Reported by a tester
- Tablets in landscape: the Now Playing side panel no longer bleeds black outside its rounded corners. Reported by c***y
- Apple Music now runs on devices with 16 KB memory pages.
To the testers who reported these, and to the friend who asked for Keep screen on.
0.5.0 (8–9)

New
- Coming from Spotoolfy. Import your Spotoolfy backup with a two-page recap, or start the migration straight from the welcome guide.
- Send feedback directly from Settings or the account card.
Improved
- Jump Back In fits more items and can be hidden on Home.
- Memories bubbles draw from a wider set of prompts.
- System media controls now include a shuffle button.
- Polished the Simplified Chinese interface copy.
Fixed

- Apple Music: library playlists that MusicKit refuses to play directly now fall back to their catalog counterparts. Reported by z***i4
- Google Drive Cloud sync no longer fails with HTTP 403. Reported by p***01
To the testers who reported these.
0.5.0 (7)
The first Google Play closed-test build, carrying every fix from the opening week with friends.
Fixed
- Songs opened from library search results now play on tap. Reported by z***i4
- Tapping a track on an album page plays that exact track instead of the one above it. Reported by z***i4
- Apple Music: large playlists queue a 100-track window around the song you tapped, and playback errors distinguish between network, queue and permission issues. Reported by z***i4
- Lyrics stay centered in landscape. Reported by i***1k
- The PLAY / PAUSE pill holds a steady width, and pressing Previous on an album’s opening track restarts it from 0:00. Reported by Q***A
- Dragging the rating bar no longer freezes the UI. Your score saves on release—and cancels if the track changes while you drag, so it never lands on the next song. Reported by a tester
- Real-device polish: account switching, the floating setup guide, cover retry on load failure, per-account Home snapshots, and Spotify playback confirmation.
- Rewrote the Simplified Chinese interface strings.
To the friends who tested Yoin first and reported these.
